Lighthouse Festival Theatre

Lighthouse Festival Theatre is a professional theatre company located in Port Dover, Ontario, Canada. The theatre's main producing season runs every May through September, and includes mostly comedies and musicals. Lighthouse has an all-Canadian mandate, and is dedicated to producing new plays by Canadian playwrights. The theatre is incorporated as a not-for-profit, charitable organization. In its non-producing season (October - April), Lighthouse is open for rentals, and regularly hosts concerts, fundraisers, community productions, and meetings.

''Henry & Alice: Into the Wild'' by Michelle Riml
May 22 - June 8
The sequel to Riml's international hit comedy, ''Sexy Laundry'', reunites audiences with titular characters Henry and Alice Lane. In ''Into the Wild'', the Lanes struggle through a wayward camping trip and the unexpected arrival of Alice's free-spirited sister Diana. Lighthouse Theatre's production stars Jamie Williams (Henry), Melodee Finlay (Alice), and Susan Greenfield (Diana), and is directed by Walter Learning. Other credits include: Bill Chesney (set and costume design), Wendy Greenwood (lighting design), Bill Brillinger (stage manager), and Mel Watkins (apprentice stage manager).
''Knickers: A Brief Comedy!'' by Sarah Quick
June 12–29
Sarah Quick's play ''Knickers: A Brief Comedy!'' tells the story of the fictional northern Ontario town Elliston Falls, which has just seen the Flackston Mill close and most of the community's employment disappear. Four enterprising women pull unite to save the town by creating a new lingerie line that creates jobs and makes Elliston Falls a tourist destination. The play is similar in plot to ''The Full Monty,'' but is not a musical. Lighthouse Theatre's production stars Melanie Janzen (Barb), Alexis Koetting (Amanda), Alison Lawrence (Terri), Jennifer Toulmin (Mary), and is directed by Derek Ritschel. Additional credits include: Eric Bunnell (set design), Alex Amini (costume design), Wendy Greenwood (lighting design), Daniele Guillaume (stage manager), and Erika Moery (assistant stage manager).
''On a First Name Basis'' by Norm Foster
July 3–20
The newest comedy by Canada's most-produced playwright, Norm Foster, stars Foster as aloof author David Kilbride and Patricia Vanstone as his housekeeper, Ms. Hopperstaad. Despite a 28-year employer/employee relationship, Kilbride realizes he knows absolutely nothing about Ms. Hopperstaad, an oversight he decides to remedy over an evening of Scotch and wine. As the two discuss their relationship, many new revelations come to light. This production was a huge hit for Lighthouse, with 18 of 24 performances selling out completely. Additional credits include: David Nairn (director), Beckie Morris (set design), Steve Lucas (lighting design), Kevin Olson (stage manager), and Mel Watkins (apprentice stage manager).
''The 39 Steps'' adapted by Patrick Barlow from the film ''The 39 Steps'' by Alfred Hitchcock, adapted by from the novel ''The 39 Steps ''by John Buchan

The stage version of the classic spy novel and film is played for comedic effect. Four actors play every role from the film version. The Lighthouse production stars Ted Atherton (Richard Hannay), Bruce Davies (Clown 1), William Matthews (Clown 2), and Perrie Olthuis (Pamela). Additional credits: Ralph Small (director), Daniele Guillaume (stage manager).
''Dear Johnny Deere'' by Ken Cameron, based on and featuring the music of Fred Eaglesmith
August 21 - September 7
''Dear Johnny Deere'' is a jukebox musical based on the music of Juno Award winner Fred Eaglesmith. All the characters are based on character named in Eaglesmith songs. The play was originally workshopped at Lighthouse before premiering at Blythe Festival Theatre in 2012. The play is directed by Eric Coates.
